We live in a world of stories and storytellers.
From ancient cave drawings and epic poetry to novels and plays to blockbuster movies and even YouTube videos, creating and sharing stories has always been an integral part of what makes us human.
This human desire to listen to, tell, and place ourselves into stories is a big part of why On a Limb Productions exists.
On a Limb Productions is a small film production company based in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia.
The main passion and purpose of On a Limb Productions is to find the stories that matter and tell the stories that don’t get told.
There are tons of interesting, important, creative, heart-wrenching, funny, thought-provoking, revolutionary, inspiring, life-changing stories out there that are worth being told. Many of these stories are even “real-life” stories; stories of real people doing real things that deserve attention or recognition. But for various reasons, whether they are overlooked, suppressed, or simply lost in the shuffle, they go untold.
On a Limb Productions wants to help remedy that by finding and telling these stories and by being a place where people, businesses, or non-profit organizations with great stories can come and have them captured and told.
Though the films that On a Limb Productions makes often take the form of short, documentary-style videos, we’re open to telling any story that needs to be told, no matter the form or style. In the past we’ve worked on short and long documentaries, edited narrative films, and created promotional videos, event films, and music and lyric videos.
Examples of our work are available in the Videos section of onalimbproductions.com, on the video tab of our Facebook page, or on our Vimeo channel.

The name “On a Limb” has several very personal meanings for me.
First, on a kind of fun level, it’s a play on my last name. Limb, Limbauan. Get it? (Reactions are usually split pretty evenly three ways between a chuckle, a groan, and a sly look that says, “Oh, you think you’re clever.”)
Second, on a more serious note, running On a Limb Productions feels like being out on a limb. Unlike many of my fellow film school classmates, I didn’t stay in LA or move to New York. I came home to Philly. It’s definitely not a middle-of-nowhere twig, but I’m certainly not in the “trunk” of the filmmaking tree geographically.
In addition, like starting any company, this is a bit of a risk. There are no stable 9-to-5 hours or regular paychecks at the end of the week. And if you look far enough into the future, the calendar is always blank.
But, as any kid in a tree will tell you, being out on a limb is more exhilarating than clinging to the trunk, and certainly makes for the better view.
I hope I can share it with you!
